Well, the Chumados played their first game of the season yesterday. The weather was nothing short of perfect for opening day of the 2006 softball season but the team was a little worried when they showed up to the field and saw their competition. There were a lot of big men on the Potomac Playa's team and the women looked pretty tough too!

When the game began the Chumado's quickly realized they were much more skilled than their competition! MVP Shaun started the team off to a great start with the first at bat and it only got better from there. The other two MVP's, Nate and Khalid, had some awesome plays, one of them a home run. Coach William and Joey B. assisted each other in pitching a no hitter and the rest of the team played phenomenally together. You'd never know that we hadn't played together in months! It was a good way to start the season and we hope it's a sign of things to come.

Thanks to all of the great fans that came to cheer us on, a few that come to mind (and please forgive me if we forgot someone) are Steve, Dave, Grandma, Mariana, Roger, Tony, Matthew, Walla and Chris, of course, some of our best and most consistent fans, the Buffano girls and we can't forget the score keeper NJevin! Here's to a wonderful season to come - GO CHUMADO'S!

P.S. - Khalid is having a party to celebrate Nicole's Birthday on Saturday at 2pm. Please call Khalid or Nicole to find out directions to their home and what you can contribute to the party.

Woohoo! Congrats on your win!

We're sorry we missed your season opener, but we hope to live up to our "2005 Most Dedicated Fans" award. How many games can we miss before the award is retracted?
