Rest In Peace Sean Taylor

Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor has died from injuries sustained when he was shot in the leg. He was only 24!

Taylor was shot early Monday in his home in the upper leg, damaging an artery and causing significant blood loss. Miami-Dade Police were investigating the attack.

Taylor played at the University of Miami, where he was an All-American in 2003, and was also a high school standout in the city. His father, Pedro Taylor, is the police chief of Florida City.
Taylor was drafted into the NFL No. 5 overall by the Redskins in 2004 and was a rising star on the team.

Sean leaves behind a daughter, Jackie, who was born in May 2006, a long time girlfriend and mother of his child, family, friends and many Redskins fans that will miss him. His death was a tragic accident and it's so sad to see such a young man, in the prime of his life and his career, taken so brutally. God bless Sean Taylor and his family.

To an Athlete Dying Young

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.

To-day, the road all runners come,
Shoulder-high we bring you home,
And set you at your threshold down,
Townsman of a stiller town.

Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields where glory does not stay
And early though the laurel grows
It withers quicker than the rose.

Eyes the shady night has shut
Cannot see the record cut,
And silence sounds no worse than cheers
After earth has stopped the ears:

Now you will not swell the rout
Of lads that wore their honours out,
Runners whom renown outran
And the name died before the man.

So set, before its echoes fade,
The fleet foot on the sill of shade,
And hold to the low lintel up
The still-defended challenge-cup.

And round that early-laurelled head
Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead,
And find unwithered on its curls
The garland briefer than a girl's.

Does any one know where to get good tickets for Sunday, so that we can go and pay tribute to Shaun Taylor?
